A fair warning: if there are any side remarks about the upcoming shows, they express my personal opinions and in no way should influence your decisions on what to watch.

The 2011-2012 Fall Schedule

NBC

For me, personally, NBC is the network I watch the least. Occasionally, I check on The Biggest Loser, mostly to see the end results, which are always so inspiring. The scripted shows for some reason were never much of a interest to me, except for last year’s first season of Harry’s Law with Kathy Bates. Unfortunately, it had Castle as its competition so I had to satisfy my admiration for Kathy Bates on hulu.com. And it doesn’t look better this year. NBC moved Harry’s Law to 9 p.m. on Wednesdays. The show was barely surviving on Mondays and now it will be up against Criminal Minds. I doubt it will do better on Wednesdays. Alas.

Anyway, NBC also canceled a handful of their shows, some after just one season, including Undercovers, Outlaw, Chase, The Cape, Perfect Couples, The Event, Law & Order: LA, Outsourced, and America’s Next Great Restaurant.

Out of 22 pilots, the network ordered 11, which include five dramas and six comedies, along with a renewal of Parenthood, Harry’s Law, and Chuck. Though, it was announced that Chuck was renewed for its fifth and final season. It seems that the show has been suffering decline in ratings due to a pretty tough competition from ABC and CBS shows airing in the same hour (DWTS and House).
