Those who attended L8 last March or L9 might still remember their first reaction to the two stars of The Real L Word reality show and a real-life couple, Stamie Karakasidis and Tracy Ryerson. I remember mine very well. They were hilarious, down to earth and very entertaining. I’ve met both of them before in Los Angeles but I haven’t had a chance to really see them in action.

My biggest surprise was to see two seemingly different people who work so well together as a couple and as entertainers; who are so passionate about keeping their relationship and romance alive, especially when there are kids involved. At L9 I had an opportunity to talk to Stamie and Tracy about their lives as parents and partners, about their involvement with fans and what they have been up to since the last time the fans saw them. Needless to say, that with Stamie being such a comedian, the interview was full of fun and laughter.

 

L-word: What have you been up to this past year career-wise and life-wise since we saw you last in March at L8?

 

Tracy: We’ve been making babies.

 

Stamie: Stop it (laughing).

 

Tracy: Just kidding (laughing).

 

L-word: You know, people believe everything you said at the Q&A’s so they think that by now you already have like six or seven babies.

 

Stamie: Oh, we have 55.

 

Tracy: 55? (laughing)

 

Stamie: Tracy’s been modeling in a commercial acting.

 

Tracy: Yes, I’ve been doing commercial acting and modeling and hosting. That’s all on camera. And then producing reality television.

 

L-word: You didn’t have enough of the one you were on?

 

Tracy: Exactly. Well, I’d rather sort of be in charge of what’s on there or have somebody in charge of my life. So it’s the next step.

 

Stamie: So we’ve been pitching reality and I’ve been having a nerves breakdown…no, I’ve just been focusing on work, stand-up and real estate, and the kids and pitching shows.

 

Tracy: We do a little bit of a lot of things.
