Interview with Stamie Karakasidis and Tracy Ryerson at L9 – November 2011
L-word: How was your experience at the previous convention and what did you expect from this one?
Stamie: I didn’t know how much I was going to love Birmingham.
L-word: Because last one was at Brighton.
Tracy: Brighton was great. Brighton set the bar high.
Stamie: Yeah, Brighton was our first. We were by the ocean, we walked on the pier. We could walk to the hotel…
Tracy: We ran to the pub, we ran into friends, we ran into fans. It was very easy to get around.
Stamie: We ran into some boobs…
Tracy: (laughing) Yeah, there were stores nearby. Birmingham is a little bit more desolate and isolated.
Stamie: Which is good for the convention because it makes people hang out together, whereas in Brighton everyone went their own way.
Tracy: So there’s pros and cons to both, I guess but they both turned out to be great events, a lot of fun.
L-word: And the fans were very appreciative and nice?
Stamie: Oh, the fans have been great.
Tracy: Consistently great.
Stamie: I think, you appreciate them and they appreciate you and we had a lot of good times together.
Tracy: And it’s a lot of the same girls coming back for every L event.
Stamie: Yeah, and it’s also seeing other people that you’ve met. It’s like a social thing, it’s not just for the show.
L-word: Oh yeah, you meet your friends you haven’t seen for awhile and hang out.
Stamie: Exactly. It’s like your spring break.
Tracy: Right.

I’m a fan of them and think they’re wonderful and I highly respect the work and as a person thank Brazil
