L9 Convention in Birmingham – November 11-13, 2011
Gabby is not worried about being typecast because it’s all work for her. A lot of the time you end up working with people you know anyway. This was the case when Mandy Musgrave and she met Angela Robinson, who had seen them on South of Nowhere, loved them and wanted them to be in Girltrash.
One of Gabby’s favorite charities is one for SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) because she lost a brother to SIDS when she was a young child. A lot of people are still unaware of what SIDS is and her mom even started some non-profit program to bring awareness about SIDS. They do walks and fundraisers and Gabby posts info and links about it on her twitter and facebook.
Gabby said that she is usually offered to play nice girls next door and she would love to play a mean girl for a change because it would be fun. Gabby’s favorite movie of all time is “Sound of Music.” As far as TV show, she loves almost anything on Showtime and HBO, including Dexter and Homeland.
After high school Gabby planned to go to New York into a musical theater program because she loved to sing and act but she’s not a good dancer and most of the Broadway and Julliard programs require all three skills. She ended up in Hollywood as an actor and she’s glad because she has many friends who appear in the musicals and it seems that their job is more demanding.
Gabby said that some fans were twittering to her to appear on Glee as Quinn’s (Dianna Argon) sister but she actually auditioned for the role of Quinn but didn’t get it. She did Frank Sinatra’s “The way you look tonight”.
Gabby’s father was born in Budapest, Hungary and she would love to live there one day. When they were growing up her father would speak to them in Hungarian and her mother would speak English. In the summer they went to Hungarian camp where they learned about history and the culture of the country.
Currently, Gabby finished a Pilot for a TV show about a bunch of teenagers who are spending their time on an island off the coast of Massachusetts. She also appears in a few episodes of different TV shows, like House and The Middle. She loves drama and it comes more naturally to her but she’s been doing a lot of comedy lately and loves doing it as well.
