The show was filmed in LA because it was cheaper and it might appear glamorous but it’s not all that. It also didn’t mean that LA lesbians are more interesting. The west coast attracts more people because they all want something, especially from Hollywood. The clientele more mixed in LA than it is in certain areas, especially Midwest and such. There is more variety and craziness there, which makes for a better TV.

Tracy and Stamie have a website http://www.ourfifteenminutes.com where anyone can post their stories or chat with people from all over the world. It’s sort of an outlet for people where they can feel safe and be anonymous if they want.
Stamie said that she didn’t plan on being a single mother of three. She had them with her ex-girlfriend who is older and when they broke up, Stamie didn’t know how it will go. Tracy came into her life and the kids love her and she’s great with them, which is really important. It’s difficult to be in a relationship, let along to be in one with kids. They have to be patient and understanding and giving.
They both came out later in life, admitting that they didn’t know they were gay. Stamie mentioned that she wouldn’t want to come out in high school anyway because kids at that age are mean. That conversation led to “It Gets Better” campaign against bullying and on Sunday the attendees were given an opportunity to record “It Gets Better” messages with Tracy and Stamie. Tracy also said that for her “It Gets Better” became part of her “I Choose Me” statement that she came up with. For her it means that you have to first love and accept yourself before loving and accepting others. You have to be comfortable with yourself and have courage to be who you are.
