Journey to the Woman I’ve Come to Love
Kristin Chenoweth said, “If you can learn to love yourself and all the flaws, you can love other people so much better.” The question is how to learn to fall in love with ourselves when we are our worst self-critics. No matter how we look, what we’ve accomplished, or how many people around us think that we are amazing, we might still have self-doubts.
One way to learn is to ask someone for whom their self-image is very important because most of their lives are spend in public. In other words, ask celebrities.
Miki Turner, a professional and inspiring photographer and a journalist is ready to give us a unique opportunity to find some of the answers in her upcoming coffee table book “Journey to the Woman I’ve Come to Love”. Miki describes it as a book “that seeks to empower, enlighten and inspire women with words of wisdom from their sisters of all hues and backgrounds.”
The book includes beautiful black & white photographs from well-known celebrities like Halle Berry, Oprah Winfrey, Penelope Cruz, Angelina Jolie, Angela Davis, The L Word‘s Laurel Holloman and Jane Lynch, Diane Nash, Temple Grandin, Marion Jones, Mo’Nique, and many others.
The photographs are accompanied by the celebrities’ responses to one simple question: “at what point did you fall in love with yourself?”
