What Shows Are You Watching – TV Schedule 2012-2013: CBS
Out of all the pilots introduced during the pilot season, there were two that would’ve been potentially interesting for the fans of “The L Word”, but the network decided not to move forward with them. One was called “Quean” that was written and executive-produced by Ilene Chaiken, a drama about an edgy and independent hacker girl who teamed up with an Oakland police detective to solve crimes. Obviously, the plot was too similar to the famous “Millennium Trilogy” and that makes it a second pilot written by Ilene Chaiken that was not picked up. Maybe she really should concentrate on writing a happy and romantic “The L Word” movie.
The second pilot that was more eagerly anticipated by the fans was “Widow Detective” about a decorated police detective (John Corbett) who becomes a surrogate husband, lover and father to the families of his three partners lost in the line of duty. Jennifer Beals was playing one of the widows and an owner of a hair salon. Though both John Corbett and Jennifer Beals are pretty big names, the premise of the pilot didn’t’ have enough potential to move forward with it.
