Jennifer Beals on WIGS – episode “Lauren” (August 13)

As we reported before, the YouTube channel WIGS is presenting a series of short films, all featuring strong complex female characters and employing female writers and directors. Launched in May, WIGS quickly became the #1 scripted channel on YouTube because the series are original, provocative, and edgy and they combine some of Hollywood’s successful creative minds, talented actors and the innovation and power of the digital age. Web series is not entirely a new concept but only recently it has become a popular way of entertainment and the WIGS project is one of them.
Jennifer Beals, who had recently starred in “The Chicago Code” and appeared as a guest star in “Castle”, played some strong commanding characters and now she will appear on the next episode of WIGS, “Lauren”, which will premier this coming Monday, August 13th.
I was fortunate to be invited to a WIGS conference call where Jennifer Beals talked about what had attracted her to this Internet project, how she approached her role as Major Jo Stone and what does she think about web series as an alternative media form in general.
